General terms and conditions

This is an unofficial translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the Finnish version shall prevail.

1. Scope

These general terms and conditions apply to swimming instruction services booked through the Aikuistenuimakoulu.fi service. By booking a service, the customer accepts these terms.

2. Cancellation and rescheduling (private and small-group lessons)

2.1 Cancellations

• A booking may be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge no later than 24 hours before the lesson begins.
• If the cancellation or rescheduling is made less than 24 hours before the lesson begins, 50 % of the price of the lesson is charged.
• If the cancellation or rescheduling is made less than 12 hours before the lesson begins, 100 % of the price of the lesson is charged.

Cancellations and rescheduling must be made by email to info@aikuistenuimakoulu.fi.

3. Force majeure

Aikuistenuimakoulu.fi is not liable for a lesson being cancelled or interrupted if the cause is force majeure, for example:

• sudden illness
• orders issued by the authorities
• exceptional weather conditions
• closure of the swimming pool
• any other reason beyond the control of Aikuistenuimakoulu.fi

The customer may provide an account of the force majeure event when cancelling. The instructor or the service provider may equally be affected by a force majeure situation.

If a lesson has to be cancelled for a reason beyond the control of Aikuistenuimakoulu.fi, the customer is primarily offered a new time for the lesson. No additional monetary compensation is paid.

4. Liability and safety

• All services take place at the customer’s own risk.
• The customer is responsible for ensuring that their state of health allows them to take part in swimming instruction or training.
• Participants must not attend lessons while ill or otherwise in a condition that may endanger their own safety or that of others.
• Adult customers are not insured by Aikuistenuimakoulu.fi and are responsible for their own insurance cover.

5. Payment methods

The service is paid for before the lesson begins.

Available payment methods:

• invoice by email
• ePassi
• Edenred
• MobilePay

The customer receives a receipt by email immediately after payment. All prices include value added tax at the rate in force at the time.

6. Customer register and privacy

Customer contact details are processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. By providing their contact details, the customer accepts that Aikuistenuimakoulu.fi may use them for:

• managing the customer relationship
• communication relating to the services
• direct marketing

The customer has the right to opt out of direct marketing at any time by notifying Aikuistenuimakoulu.fi.

7. Changes to these terms

Aikuistenuimakoulu.fi reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Amendments take effect once they have been published on the website.
